Speed up a slow Windows PC
Find what is slowing the computer and improve it safely. · 8 min read- 01
Restart the PC, then open Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc and check which process is using the most CPU, memory or disk.
- 02
Open Startup apps in Task Manager and disable only nonessential programs with a high startup impact.
- 03
Keep at least 15% of the system drive free. Use Settings → System → Storage to review temporary files before deleting them.
- 04
Install pending Windows and driver updates, run a malware scan, then compare performance after another restart.
Do not install random “PC cleaner” tools. Windows already includes the safest first-line cleanup features.
